Our Yard

Along with our first house comes our first yard.  Dean and I have spent many hours outside working on the landscaping.  The previous owners had a really nice layout but a lot of pruning needed to be done.  We still have plenty to do and want to plant some more trees at some point.  Hope you enjoy the pictures!

This is our side and back yard.  Our line of rose bushes seem to have survived the winter weather!  Thank goodness since we are the "house with the rose bushes."  Our birch trees are really pretty!

This is our Crabapple Tree!  It was really pretty when it was in full bloom a few weeks ago.

The front of our house has some pretty bushes.  The left side has been cut back and the right still needs some work.

This is our White Lilac Bush!  I have seen many of the purple ones around the area but the white ones seem to be rather rare.  It looks really pretty and smells really nice too!

We had a bunch of yellow Daffodils in these flower beds early spring.  There is a pretty purple Azalea in the bunch and we are waiting for some others to bloom so we can figure out what they are!

This is our vegetable garden!  We already had a 7ft x 2 ft raised garden bed so we decided to plant a garden using the Square Foot Gardening method.  Hopefully we will be able to enjoy some yummy veggies this summer.  Dean made this awesome fence for me to keep all the little animals out of it, including Daisy!

From back to front we have 4 types of tomatoes, cucumbers, red pepper, watermelon, celery, onions and lettuce (not pictured)  YUM!
Here you can see our hummingbird feeder and the big section of bushes off the patio.  They are a lot smaller now because we hacked at them today.

I'm so glad I got to see your yard now and your garden. It all looks so nice. Maybe I will be up in time to have some veggies. Love you. Mom
