2012!!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Merry Christmas!
Happy New Year!

Yes, I have severely neglected this blog, but as always, I promise to play catch up!

Dean and I took a trip to Richmond for Thanksgiving.  We had a wonderful time with both of our families and got to see some of our friends.  We also spent a lot of time with Dean's grandparents.  They had moved into a retirement community and we went over to check it out.  We also helped them decorate for Christmas!  We had a lot of fun!

December was a whirlwind.  I was super busy at work trying to finish up a project before Christmas break.  Most nights I worked late, but we found some time for a lot of fun!  Dean spent December doing phone interviews and working on his thesis.  He also spent a lot of time working on a project he is the senior lead on.

To kick off December we went to a Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert!  These guys are AWESOME!  The really got us in to the the spirit of the season!  We also went to see Cavalia's second show, Odysseo.  We went 2 years ago with Dean's parents to the first show.  This one was even better!  It was bigger and there were more stunts.  We had a really great time!  Also in December, we took an impromptu date night on a Thursday to go see the Christmas Lights at the Atlanta Botanical Garden.  It was a great time and such a lovely night to go!  One Saturday we took in a swimming competition called Duel in the Pool.  It was at Georgia Tech in the Olympic Swimming Pool.  The best swimmers from the USA took on the best swimmers from Europe.  It was amazing to see how fast these people could swim!  The USA beat Europe by a ton of points!

Christmas was wonderful!  We had a Christmas Eve dinner at Dean's brother's house.  Geoff did a great job on dinner and Jenny was a wonderful hostess as always.  We had a fun evening with family and extended family too!  We got to spend Christmas morning at Asbury and have a big family Christmas dinner.  We had a really awesome hang out with friends!  A lot of people were able to show up and we had a really great time!  Miss you guys!!  We also took a trip up to WV.  We got to spend some time with Mamaw and got to see some other family members.  It was nice to be in WV.  Somehow it doesn't feel like Christmas without those WV hills!

We made it back to Atlanta in time for New Years!  Dean and I decided to make it down to the Peach Drop this year.  It was really crowded, but the weather was nice and it was fun!  We counted down as the peach dropped and then watched fireworks!

2012 is here and we are excited!  This year is full of uncertainty.  We don't know when Dean will graduate.  We don't know where he will get a job.  We don't know when or where we will be moving.  But...what we do know is that God has a plan for us and that plan is bigger and better than anything we can imagine.  So yes, this year is uncertain, but we are excited to see what it holds!
